Lotte Beckett

Lotte is an actor and writer living in Naarm (Melbourne). She is currently producing and rehearsing sketch comedy show, 'We’re New Here' for MICF 2023, and the return July season of 'Last Time' at the Motley Bauhaus. In 2022, she developed her play 'Real Talk' with ATYP, wrote, created and performed theatre work, 'CLUB NITE', to a sold-out audience at Miscellania (Melb), and performed in Lily Hensby’s play 'Last Time' as part of Sydney Fringe (nom. Best Theatre) and Melbourne Fringe. She also filmed short film 'Good Grief' with SUZY Productions, an ad for Bad Frankie’s Fitzroy with Loose as Hell Productions, and understudied for ’Trophy Boys’ (writ. Emmanuelle Mattana). 

She is a graduate of 16th Street Actors Studio and Melbourne University (BA: Creative Writing), and has written for Griffin Theatre Company, La Mama and ATYP.  Her writing was published at Melbourne University, and 'CLUB NITE' was nominated for Best New Work (Mudfest Arts Festival). She was in the winning cast of the Midsumma Festival Queer Playwriting Award (2021) and was nominated for Most Outstanding Performer for the 'CLUB NITE' reading (2021). She has trained in practical aesthetics (Andrea Moor), Shakespeare (Iain Sinclair, VCA), comedy and improvisation (The Groundlings) and contemporary text (Howard Fine, VCA, 16th Street, NIDA). She serves on the ATYP Youth Advisory Board, and can be spotted in Leah Purcell’s feature film 'The Drover’s Wife' and Stella Donnelly’s MV for 'How Was Your Day.’
